R2 is turning one year old

2026-10-09

On 10/10/2026, Replication Research was opened for submissions. Now, almost one year we look back at about 40 authors of 16 submissions for submitting their articles, 19 reviewers for their constructive and detailed reviews, and for our team of 40 members across Editors, Editorial Assistants, Ombudsperson, Social Responsibility and Science Communication Champions, and Advisory Board Members.

  • Together with the researchers who were involved in the creation of R2, we have published a preprint where we discuss the process and infrastructure: https://doi.org/10.31222/osf.io/zctw7_v1
  • A new article by Dhruv Aggarwal, Keyi Zhang, and James Bartlett has been published this week and is now available alongside the open peer review report and the reproducibility certificate: https://www.replicationresearch.org/articles/10085/.
  • R2 will receive support from the Erasmus University Rotterdam's Diamond Open Access Fund. The research proposal is available in our Zenodo community: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22665448
  • We are planning a special issue for summer 2027 where we compare human- versus AI-led based on a three-day-workshop that will take place from 2-4 December in Münster. Applications are now open at: https://indico.uni-muenster.de/e/reprohack

With a transition to a new OJS Version that will improve communication and submission management, numerous articles under review and one in press, an update of the Initial Editorial Assessment to include reproducibility checks, and tools to strengthen scholarly-led publishing, we are looking forward to another exciting year of supporting and publishing high-quality replication research.
